Food Pantry
Elmont Temple SDA Church’s food pantry has been around for nearly 20 years. This ministry is for the community and it helps to feed people who are in need. We work under the umbrella of the North Eastern Conference SDA community service. We also work in conjunction with two food banks, namely LI Cares and Island Harvest.
The food pantry at Elmont Temple serves the people of Elmont and the surrounding communities in many ways. As long as someone is in need, they are able to receive food from the food pantry. Each month, the food pantry is able to serve 100+ families. Students are able to volunteer at Elmont Temple’s food pantry in order to get community service hours.
Over the years Elmont Temple food pantry has distributed hundreds of dollars worth of clothes to the community and supplied emergency food services.
The importance of the food pantry is that it is saving lives, one family at a time. Food is the staff of life and we hope that after people are fed physically, they will seek to be fed spiritually by the bread of life which is Jesus Christ.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35) The ultimate goal of this ministry is to lead men and women to Jesus.
